Teaching Assistant

(Full time fixed term Contract - Maternity cover) to be reviewed

We are an independent specialist college for young people (aged 16-25) with a range of learning disabilities.  Within our therapeutic community emphasis is placed on crafts, the arts, movement education and care for the land.  Through learning, living and working together each student is helped to reach their potential.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students across the College.

Term time only

9.00am-4.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday  /  Thursdays 9.00am-5.00pm

The key areas of activity are to:

Support individual students and small groups in: independence skills sessions eg life skills, functional skills, work skills, personal development, offsite activities eg travel training or external work placements (a driving licence is essential); movement sessions eg gym, games; and in workshop sessions eg cookery, bakery, weavery, pottery, garden, art.

The post is full-time term time 39 weeks per year

Hourly rate £12.67
