We are now looking for enthusiastic people who would like to support our students in their households, college and the wider community with daily living activities.

Supporting Lives Facilitators

The role includes caring for all aspects of the student’s daily life. It is a full time position, 37.5 hours as 8 hour shifts 5 days per week – term time only. The shifts can be morning, or evening and Saturdays. Tasks will include personal care, homemaking, meal time support, leisure activities, college support and work placements. Our main requirement is your motivation and interest to become part of our vibrant college and community. We strongly value people who can offer warm authentic support to individuals with learning disabilities. Your willingness to participate in the trainings offered is essential. The Mount Camphill Community is a successful Independent residential Specialist College for students aged 16-25 with a range of learning difficulties. We have approximately 35 residential students with additional places for day students. The College is located on the outskirts of Wadhurst on the border of East Sussex and Kent, and the beautiful grounds and buildings have been sustainably developed by The Mount since 1970.

In this therapeutic community we offer a distinctive approach to education and support which provides for the social, emotional and spiritual development of young people with special needs through safe, shared community living and integration with wider communities. Emphasis is placed on crafts, the arts, movement education, and care for the land.

Every student is supported in their development towards greater social awareness, self-confidence and improved communication skills on their path to adulthood and independence. Students can acquire a range of accredited qualifications related to personal and social development, functional skills, work and workplace skills as part of their course at The Mount.
